Equine Bowen Therapy

Support your horse’s health, comfort, and performance.

At Bowen Synergy, we understand just how much your horse means to you — whether they’re your competition partner, trusted working companion, or beloved paddock mate.

Equine Bowen Therapy is a gentle, effective way to support your horse’s physical health, emotional wellbeing, and performance. It’s suitable for horses at every stage of life — from newborn foals to high-level athletes, and cherished seniors enjoying retirement.

Our sessions are calm and tailored to your horse’s individual needs — whether you’re preparing for a competition or simply supporting your horse’s comfort and longevity.

What is Equine Bowen Therapy?

Equine Bowen Therapy is a gentle, hands-on bodywork technique that helps restore balance, improve movement, and relieve pain or tension. Using subtle, rolling movements over key points in the muscles, fascia, and tendons, it stimulates the nervous system and activates the horse’s own healing mechanisms.

Bowen Therapy promotes:

  • Natural alignment
  • Increased mobility and flexibility

Deep relaxation and emotional release — without force or manipulation

What to Expect During a Session

All treatments are carried out at your horse’s home — in the paddock or stable — where they feel most relaxed.

Initial Consultation (30–45 minutes)

Your first session includes:

  • A thorough history and discussion of your current concerns
  • Observation of your horse’s posture, gait, and response to touch
  • A full Bowen treatment with rest periods between sets of moves
  • Most horses respond during the session — signs include licking, yawning, blinking, stretching, or visible postural shifts

Follow-Up Sessions (30 minutes)

While many horses improve significantly after one treatment, a follow-up session 5–10 days later is often recommended. These may include:

  • Review of your horse’s progress
  • Continued treatment tailored to their evolving needs
