What is Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is a gentle, hands-on technique developed by Thomas Ambrose Bowen (1916–1982) in Geelong, Victoria. Known for treating up to 13,000 people a year (according to a government survey), Tom Bowen created his distinctive bodywork method through observation, intuition, and constant refinement.
This non-invasive therapy involves subtle rolling moves over specific muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerve receptors. These movements stimulate the body’s natural healing response, helping to reset the nervous system, relieve pain, reduce tension, and promote deep relaxation.
